People are liquidating stocks after "Remap 4 plex" speculation fail and there is a kind of panic on the plex market now. I'm wondering if prices fall below 300m in coming days but i don't expect this. Anyway summer is coming ( Incarna ) so this can be good long term investment if you have a couple of billions.

You're liquidating your stock you say? Bad timing then :/
Nope. I am a buyer and i want to convince more people to start buy. Why? More people will buy it, the price will raise. Also when plexes are around 300m it is rather safe investment as they won't drop below that price.

Originally by: Internet White Knight I think it's more likely that CCP would generate some ISK and buy up PLEX just to destroy them. They could make real money and the only side effect would be destroying the Eve economy.
In fact, the Eve economy's pretty shot already. Maybe they have been doing this all along?
Maybe GMs and devs spend their spare time on piewat alts outside Jita 4-4 scanning for ships carrying PLEX to suicide gank and destroy them. More free money!
/me scrounges for tinfoil.
^This^ I'm more than sure that CCP still controls the market only the way of controlling it changed. In the past they regulate prices via NPC orders but it was lame and they decided to change that. They are doing that more subtle way thease days. How you may ask? It is easy - by controlling stocks. They simply regulate amount of every core product on the market. In other words if there is too many plexes on the market and price is falling rapidly they simply buy out some of the stock using fake alts.
CCP will never allow to bring PLEX prices below certain level because it will ruin their buisness. In case you don't know: THEY ARE HERE TO MAKE MONEY. The higher is price of plex the better to CCP.
This game exist on market since 2003 and there is almost no inflation on the game market. Do you think how it is possible?
Most mmo game's markets was ruined by half of that time by players itself by produceing more stuff than market ever needs and pulling down prices to the level that game's currency had no value.
But eve's market is still healthy... Think about that.

So much for that theory. As for the inflation I think its due to station traders. We continually drive the price of goods down. That and the ability to produce any good.
Since whenever a product goes up in price, the profit margin in making it goes up, more industry people make that product. But then, when selling it, they compete and drive the price down.
The main CCP impact was the fixed insurance that set a bottom price level for minerals but that seems to have changed afaik.
You are all wrong.
Let's do some math then. Let's say there is 40 000 players online every single second on the server. Each of them is killing 1 rat during game session of the day. Rat is dropping item x ( let's say it is a shield booster ). So by killing 1 rat dayly they generate 40 000 shield boosters on the market every day. That will be 280 000 items weekly and 1200000 items monthly. This should create a flood of shield boosters on the market bringing their price to the worthless level. Check market stocks now. Do you see any flood? Or maybe stocks are FIXED and amounts of items of every product only vary to the certain point?
I tell you player driven economy is a myth.

It was just an example, all i'm trying to say is that volumes of items on the market are too small for that amount of players and looks like being fixed and changes +- 20% maybe.

Not every mission but some of them for sure. Farming AE for 6 days you can make about 200m from loot and salvage and i know ppl who do this regulary.
Anyway the reason for create this post was to calm down plex market a bit.( I've bought xx of them at 325m / piece) After rapid drop 4 day ago the price stabilized at good level for me (323m atm). Sorry guys for this little manipulation but i had to protect my investment Still Plexes are at minimum ( for 6 month time interval).

Look i really don't care what was the main reason for plex pirces stop falling but they did. My post was intended to help stabilize those prices. If it help me reach the goal - good, if prices stabilized all by itself and my post had nothing to do with that - also good. In both cases goal is reached. I just had a few liquid billions to put into something and as i think plexes will rise again to 380m in coming months it will bring nice profit. I'm here to increase my wealth not e-peen. If it sounds like that - it was not intended.
